Privacy Policy

Introduction

Zeno Apps LLC ("we", "us", or "our") built the Stoa app (Stoa: Meditation & Stoicism) as a Freemium app. This SERVICE is provided by Zeno Apps LLC at no cost and is intended for use as is.

This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service.

If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, which is accessible at Stoa unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.

Information Collection and Use

For a better experience, while using our Service, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information. The information we collect depends on how you use the Service and is detailed below.

We do not sell your personal and sensitive user data to third parties.

  • Unique device identifier (generated UUID)
  • App version
  • Meditation session history (start time, end time, duration)
  • Meditation streaks and progress
  • Screen views and feature interactions

How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect for the following purposes:

Account & Authentication: To create and manage your account, authenticate your identity, and provide personalized features. Sign-in data is shared with authentication providers to verify your identity.

Device Information: To ensure compatibility, provide technical support, and identify your device for account association. Shared with crash reporting and analytics services to diagnose issues.

App Usage & Meditation Data: To provide meditation tracking features, personalize content recommendations, and improve the app experience. Usage events sent to analytics providers may be linked to your account ID and email.

Subscription & Purchases: To manage your subscription, verify purchases, and provide access to premium content. Shared with app stores and subscription-management providers to manage access.

Health Data (iOS Only): To allow you to track meditation as a mindful activity in Apple Health, only when you grant HealthKit permission. We do not transmit your health data to our servers or any third party.

Timezone & Locale: To deliver content at appropriate times, localize the app experience, and schedule reminders correctly. Sent to our servers for content delivery, not shared with third parties.

Advertising & Attribution: To measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns and attribute app installs to marketing channels. On iOS, advertising identifiers are only collected with your explicit consent via the App Tracking Transparency prompt. Shared with attribution and ad-measurement providers, subject to applicable device permissions.

Push Notifications: To send meditation reminders and other notifications you have opted in to receive. Device tokens are shared with notification-delivery providers.

Email Journaling: If you use email journaling, we process your entries to provide that feature. Journal emails pass through our email providers.

Third-Party SDKs and Services

We use providers for sign-in, hosting, analytics, error reporting, subscription management, notification and email delivery, and advertising measurement. Depending on the feature, they may process account identifiers and email, device and usage data, crash logs, purchase status and receipts, notification tokens, advertising identifiers, website interactions, or journal emails. Usage data sent to analytics providers may be linked to your account. The data processed depends on the feature you use.

Advertising and Tracking

Stoa uses mobile advertising identifiers for install attribution and campaign measurement. On iOS, access to the advertising identifier (IDFA) follows your App Tracking Transparency choice; if you decline, we do not collect or share your IDFA. On Android, we may use the device advertising ID, which you can reset or limit in device settings. We do not show ads in the app.

Our marketing website uses analytics and advertising measurement tools that record page views and interactions. The main marketing site loads these when pages open; the Stoa web app limits some advertising tracking based on browser opt-out signals and device time zone.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal and sensitive user data. We share user data only in the following circumstances:

With service providers: We share data with service providers for analytics, advertising measurement, error reporting, authentication, subscription management, email delivery, and attribution.

For legal compliance: We may disclose your data if required to do so by law or in response to valid governmental requests (e.g., a court order or government agency request).

Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control of your personal data.

With your consent: We may share your data with third parties when you have given us explicit consent to do so.

Prominent Disclosure
